Step aboard for a relaxing cruise along the historic Allegheny River, just south of Franklin, PA. Whether you’re chasing golden hour views or soaking in the natural beauty, this peaceful ride is perfect for photographers, nature lovers, and anyone looking to unwind.

Encounter a rich variety of wildlife—bald eagles, osprey, deer, otters, beavers, turtles, and more—as you drift through one of Pennsylvania’s most scenic stretches of water. Cruises accommodate up to four passengers, with an optional bimini top available for shade. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks for a truly laid-back experience.

Optional Add-On: Make your trip even more memorable with a freshly cooked shore breakfast, lunch, or dinner on one of the river’s many islands—prepared by your Captain, who’s known for his skills in the kitchen.

Need help optimizing your boat, the tools aboard, and how you run it? Need help learning how to run our shallow river and where hazards lie? Look no further than Captain Hagg. With over 15 years of experience running The Allegheny, I’ll come aboard your vessel and help you fine-tune your setup and share as much knowledge of the river as possible.

Whether you’re new to river fishing or looking to fine-tune your skills, I’ll help you optimize your setup for shallow water success. We’ll assess your electronics, jet drive handling, boat positioning, and gear layout to improve efficiency and flow on the river. I’ll guide you through reading current seams, interpreting sonar in moving water, controlled drifting, anchoring with intention, and adjusting your tactics to match river conditions and target species. The goal? More control, more confidence, and more productive days on the water—on your boat and your terms.

Other Services Provided

• Recovery Services
– If you find your self stuck or run aground, Ripple Effect has the tools and equipment needed to get you back floating
• Emergency Services
– Transport – someone in need of transport to a boat launch for whatever reason 
– Towing – mechanical breakdowns
– Hauling – you missed your kayak take-out location and need hauled back up river
• Camping Support
– Take the hassle out of setting up camp and have Ripple Effect take care of it for you.  I’ll take your gear up or down to your desired location ahead of your arrival for you to immediately kick back and enjoy your time away.  
– Additionally, Ripple Effect can supply you with firewood, catfish gear rentals, and even assist with emergency beer runs.  LOL!
• Activities for the kids
– Seine the river and learn what lives in the shallow water rocks (crawfish, hellgrammites, stoneflies, small fish, and more)
– Learn how to catch and trap fishing bait
– Go on swim floats where they explore the river by swimming downstream with life jackets on.  The river is often very clear in late summer and offers excellent snorkeling opportunities.  
• Safety or Support Boat Services
– Oversee group floats and be there in case of someone needing assistance or of emergency 
– Support group floats by carrying gear, food, supplies, and resting points for the trip.
